What We Do
At JEM Support Services, we provide a combination of 24-hour and low supported accommodation as well as independent step-down and solo properties for young people aged 16 plus. The service is run by experienced managers and support staff who work to improve the experience of all young people who access our service.
We provide transitional support into adult independence, enabling young people to gain valuable and sustainable independence skills. Our living facilities are comfortable and functional with each room furnished to a high standard, whilst the unit promotes a homely environment that is a structured and safe space for all.
Web-Based
Learning Program
Life skills are gained through a variety of life experiences such as engaging with family, friendships, educational establishments, institutions, professionals, following processes and even engaging with strangers. Due to the amount of information received each day it can at times feel overwhelming, disjointed, contradictory and confusing. Therefore, it is important to take the time to consider the information and to learn new experiences in a safe and nurturing way.
This website aims to encourage teenagers to think about the experiences and skills they might need to help them prepare for adulthood, and help educators to find creative ways to work with young people.
PLaRS is delivered on an interactive, fun and engaging platform for young people to learn and develop new skills.
The aim of the Practical Life Skills and Recording System (PLaRS) is to assimilate things already known with new information. This will allow individuals to learn new skills and begin to challenge themselves by making sense of their reality with facts, figures, their experiences, and the experiences of others.
